About
Urbis in Manchester, England is an exhibition centre dedicated to city life. As you’ll see, it’s a new building, constructed to symbolise the new Manchester after the devastation of the 1996 IRA bomb. With four floors of evolving displays and a thriving events programme, it’s a unique organization in the UK.
Urbis covers subjects as diverse as music, architecture, design, politics, and fashion, amongst many others. It’s designed as a centre that continually explores what’s happening now, and what will happen in the future. It’s about popular culture. It also showcases some of the best and most interesting stuff coming out of Manchester and the region. It’s about making sense of the city.
And this blog makes sense of Urbis.
Hopefully.
