The Modern clears up at the Manchester Tourism Awards

We’re (still) celebrating in the Modern today having scooped two awards at The Manchester Tourism Awards last week in a glitzy ceremony at The Palace Hotel.
The Awards run by Visit Manchester – the city’s tourism body – celebrate good practice in the Tourism industry and have awards ranging from The Best Large Hotel of the Year to Tourism Retailer of the Year.
The Modern was lucky enough to be awarded Tourism Bar of the Year and was described by the judges as an ‘excellent way to start an evening in Manchester.’ Up against stiff competition, we pipped rivals such as Cloud 23 at The Hilton, Cord, The Lowry Hotel and Crown Plaza (Manchester Airport) to the post.
Our commitment to sustainable and ethical practices was also recognized as we collected The Taste of Manchester Award – a welcome achievement as we pride ourselves highly on our locally sourced, seasonal produce and choice of ethical suppliers.
We’re now automatically through to the next round – The Northwest Tourism Awards where we’ll compete against some of the most successful and most established bars and restaurants in the region – not bad for an 18 month old upstart! So drink a toast with us to celebrate and let’s hope we can keep on moving from strength to strength.
